Tea History
Liu'an Guapian was born about 1905, when a local tea master from the Liu'an Tea Shop purchased some large tea leaves, it is very successful that they then innovatively removed the stems and stalks and made a new type of green tea. That even inspired all the local tea farmers to produce a tea a lot. In the following decades the current involved rolling and pan drying process evolved, giving rise to Liu'an Guanpian's distinctive plump shape and complex sweet taste.Brewing Guide
Water Temp 180 ° F
Steep Time 1 min 15 sec
Liu An Gua Pian is exceptionally rich, and the best way to extract that richness is to brew in a gaiwan using 3.5 grams of tea leaves, steeped for 1 minute at 180 degrees Fahrenheit. Repeat infusions at the same temperature for 1 minute on the second brew, and then add 15 seconds to subsequent brews thereafter. Following this method, Liu An Gua Pian can be taken through at least 4-5 infusions.
